Nestled in the beautiful regional township of Woodend in the Macedon Ranges, just one hour north-west of Melbourne, Woodend Lifestyle Carers Group (WLCG) has been supporting carers and their loved ones since 2012. The organisation provides valuable support for people living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and other acquired brain injuries, helping them remain connected and engaged within their community.

When WLCG opened its purpose-built Day Centre in Woodend, Wentworth Care Furniture was delighted to partner with the team to furnish the new space. Our goal was to create comfortable, functional, and welcoming environments that would support both clients and carers.

To ensure the furniture selected met the needs of everyone using the centre, we supplied trial furniture for on-site evaluation. This allowed the WLCG team to assess comfort, functionality, and suitability before making their final selections. Through this collaborative process, the chairs were customised without piping, and protective arm covers were added to the armchairs to enhance durability and longevity.

For the dining and activity areas, WLCG selected practical vinyl seating for ease of cleaning and maintenance. In the lounge spaces, however, they preferred the warmth and residential feel of fabric upholstery. Several colours from the Materialised Rushdie range were chosen, providing both visual interest and a textured finish well suited to the environment.

Elegant Oak laminate was selected for the tabletops, complementing the natural timber features throughout the building and creating a cohesive, homelike atmosphere.
